These incredible small bearded irises, flowering in mid-April have been invented by a clever breeder around 1955 and have never ceased to diversify.
Between 25 and 40cm tall, they offer a range of tones almost as vast as the tall bearded irises. Furthermore, they also prove extremely prolific and hardy, just as their small miniature-dwarf counterparts.
They lend themselves perfectly to border plantings, rockeries and beds of small perennials. But they can also be planted successfully in pots (leaving 20cm space between rhizomes).
The illustrated varieties : Open Your Eyes and Allumez-le-Feu can be found on our website : www.cayeux-irises.com (among 80 varieties of Standard Dwarves)
