CONFISERIE

Named after the beautiful Ile de Ré off the Brittany coast, it displays a combination of delicate seaside colours: the bluish-white on opening becomes pure white in full bloom. Pale yellow beards tipped with white. Numerous remarkably shaped ruffled flowers and a strong multiplier.

Standards and styles are white with a thin yellow border. Falls of a white background are striated and peppered with wine-red, this colour densifying toward the edges. Falls are also bordered in golden yellow. Well-branched stalks carrying 7 to 8 buds on average. (Johnson 2011)

This new and luscious combination carries numerous elegantly ruffled flowers (11 on average) which feature medium-sized standards. The nearly horizontals falls of amaranth, with borders which turn to a light pink copper tone, are nicely echoed by bronze-coloured beards. We are pleased to have named this exquisite variety in memory of Madame Tardivier, former director of the Jardins des Tuileries at the Louvre.

No doubt the best bluish purple Plicata on a white background. Both standards and falls are neatly bordered. Beards are a light lavender.  A very strong plant yielding up to 4 stalks per rhizome, each carrying 9 buds. Perfect shape.
