DUTCH CHOCOLATE

Named after the beautiful Ile de Ré off the Brittany coast, it displays a combination of delicate seaside colours: the bluish-white on opening becomes pure white in full bloom. Pale yellow beards tipped with white. Numerous remarkably shaped ruffled flowers and a strong multiplier.

Gracefully shaped flowers with sky blue standards and darker blue-violet plicata markings on ruffled ivory falls. Popular iris, prize-winner several times despite a moderate average count of buds (only 5 to 6).

Velvety blue-black amoena with golden yellow beard ringed by a small white throat. Under certain light, the falls seem almost black. Well-spaced branching leaves room for each flower to express its full beauty. An invaluable step towards a pure black and white hybrid.

Very wavy, an excellent shape, one of the last tall iris to flower. Between bold rosy lavender and perfectly plain mid-mauve – in all, a well-structured variety which is little known. A real ornamental addition to any garden.

Recent deep navy blue with shining yellow beards. It produces many ruffled flowers, each stem consistently yielding 8 to 10 buds. In addition, it can bloom again later in the summer or beginning of autumn.

Imposing flowers (16 cm) gently ruffled and displayed on strong stems (8 buds). Creamy buff standards and flared rosy cerise falls. Yellow beards tipped with lavender.
