SOVEREIGN CROWN

Radiant and sparkling, as was Dominique herself... the colours of this iris have an unforgettable "joie de vivre": pure bright yellow standards, white falls with a wide yellow border creeping towards the centre. Golden yellow beards. Quite rounded flowers with crimped edges like its parent "Just Before Dawn". Quite a short stem but well-branched.

In our opinion, the blackest among the "black" tall beardeds. Standards and falls show the same intensity of black and the beards are black too. Elegant flowers, moderately ruffled. Slightly musky fragrance and very vigorous growth. Pleasant fragrance.

Son of ‘Clownerie’ with light caramel standards and large round falls, creamy yellow, edged and dotted with Burgundy red. Bronze beards. Good branching, like his seedling brother ‘Reflets du Sol’, 8 to 9 buds per stem. (Cayeux 10 98 B seedling).

Almost certainly one of our stars in 2016, as all our visitors in spring 2015 approved it across the board. White standards with clearly aubergine-toned edges, falls of a nearly black crimson purple and a luminous burnt-red beard resting on a white area with dark purple striations. Numerous, ruffled and shimmering flowers (9 to 11 buds on average).

Excellent and unusual colour : copper-brown standards, lighter at their base; deep red-brown falls with yellow-orange beards prolonged with a 1 cm long white line. (Niswonger 1995)

Salmon pink standards on pinkish purple falls. Bright orange-red beards on a paler zone. Tall and well-branched stems. Another interesting characteristic: it blooms late.
